Notice on Summer Training 2010
Due
to the international event participation calendar of the IURS team,
unfortunately, this summer we will be unable to offer any summer
schools. Our team only becomes available after mid-August, and this, it
appears, would be too late for a summer school. Normally, the summer
schools we would offer are: Introduction to Robotics (Summer Training)
Underwater Robotics and Communication (Summer Workshop)
Advanced Topics in Robotics and Intelligent Systems (Summer School) Our current calendar of international event participation is: - (Completed) OCEANS 2010 IEEE Sydney, Australia (24-27 May 2010) - Click Here - (Completed) 7th ICIAR 2010 Povoa de Varzim, Portugal (21-23 June 2010) - Click Here - (Completed) 4th ISSNSM 2010 Zurich, Switzerland (21-23 June 2010) - Click Here - (Completed) 4th IFIP AIMS 2010 Zurich, Switzerland (23-25 June 2010) - Click here - (Completed) 18th IEEE MED 2010 Marrakech, Morocco (23-25 June 2010) - Click Here - 1st Co3-AUVs Summer School Bremen, Germany (22-26 July 2010) - Click Here - 8th IEEE SSRR 2010 Bremen, Germany (26-30 July 2010) - Click Here - 7th IFAC IAV 2010 Lecce, Italy (6-8 September 2010) - Click Here - 6th ACM NordiCHI 2010 Reykjavik, Iceland (16-20 October 2010) - Click Here - 8th ACM MobiWac 2010 Bodrum, Turkey (17-21 October 2010) - Click Here - 13th ACM MSWiM 2010 Bodrum, Turkey (17-21 October 2010) - Click Here Further two events we look forward to participating in India are: - ACM SIGCOMM 2010 New Delhi, India (30 August - 3 September 2010) - Click Here - 6th IEEE WCSN Allahabad, India (17-19 December 2010) - Click Here
The
Indian Underwater Robotics Society (IURS) is India's first scientific
NGO, registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860, dedicated
to research & development and education in the field of Robotics.
With a special emphasis on autonomous underwater robotic technologies,
IURS has the distinction of developing India's first Autonomous
Underwater Vehicles (AUV) and also being the first non-North American
team to compete at the AUVSI & ONR's International AUV Competition.
IURS
now conducts research in the field of underwater robotics and imparts
education to college students and professionals in the fields of
unmanned systems, robotics and intelligent systems in order to
encourage wide spread participation amongst the academic and hobbyist
community of India. With successful workshop and online education
programs, and a general body with over 200 members IURS is steadily
heading towards its goal of encouraging research and development in
this field within the young technical community of India.
Furthermore,
IURS is also working hard to abolish the lack of availability of
low-cost robotic parts and kits for the Indian student community,
currently the biggest deterrent against wide-spread participation by
students.
